Flynn pto update 3/2/14

Hey There Flynn Families - Short week this week - hope to see ALL Flynn families at the annual Leddy Arena Skate Night this Friday from 6-8pm.  Admission and skate rentals are FREE as well as popcorn generously donated by Ace Hardware.  If skating makes you hungry, bring a few bills for hot cocoa, pizza slices and the bake sale (all to benefit the production of Tom Sawyer)

HUGE thanks to Abby Greenip for her artistic talents in making our Tom Sawyer bank.  Our Tom Bank is located just inside the doors to the front office and if you are so inspired (and we hope you are) he will take a small donation into his pocket.

March 4th is Town Meeting Day - this is your opportunity to weigh in on the school budget...

Skate night at Leddy Arena this Friday at 6pm.  Bring your family, bring your skates if you have them and helmets to protect those precious brains…. If you don't have skates, no worries. The PTO is picking up the cost for the rental of skates and for skating.  The Leddy snack bar will be closed but there will be free popcorn, a bake sale, drinks and pizza for $2 by the slice to purchase while it lasts.  All the food proceeds will go to benefit the production of Tom Sawyer.  There will also be a raffle for front row seats to Tom Sawyer and VIP parking.

There will also be a bake sale to benefit the play.   Donations and volunteers needed for the bake sale at Leddy Friday night!  We need donations of bottled water, juice boxes, fruit cups, veggie cups, and of course, baked goodies/gluten free goodies (lots of mixes now offer gluten free varieties). If you can provide any of these please contact Kim Hunt at kimberlyannhunt@gmail.com.

We need your help. Please contact Kim if you can volunteer for one of these slots.

JJ Flynn Elementary Annual Spring Bottle Drop THIS Saturday, March 8th from 9am to 5pm
At Merola’s Market 1563 North Avenue (the corner of Tracy Drive and North Avenue)  Help support the Flynn PTO and clean out those bottles from your garage.  Drive down the right side of the building to the drive-up bottle drop off and say you are donating the cans and bottles to the Flynn PTO.  Merola's will donate 10% in addition to what is collected to the school.  Tell your friends and neighbors as well! Save those bottles and cans!  This is a quick and easy way to help support our school.

Vivki  Hoefle Podcast: Allowance

In this conversation with Vicki Hoefle, we talk about giving children allowance to teach them about managing money. One of the most effective ways to teach kids how to manage money is to give them some. Of course, there’s more to it than that.
Listen in and let us know what you think: http://vickihoefle.com/podcast-allowance
